Resist Painting and Indigo Dying with Angie Knowles

May workshop – Angie Knowles Resist Printing & Indigo Dyeing

May 15, 2016 from 9-5  Indian Rocks Beach Art Center

Cost is $75 (including $10 IRBAC fee)  Angie will be teaching how to create fabrics using a flour based resist and stencils and then dyeing with an natural indigo vat.  We will also learn to cut our own stencils.

You will learn how to make the flour resist using easily available flours and how to make an easily sustainable natural indigo vat.

Supply list to bring:

• Cotton, silk or linen natural fabrics/fibers.  No wool, the iron in the indigo vat is not kind to wool.
• Stencils
• Print board (if you have one)
• gloves and  mask
• Xacto or craft knife
• blue tape
• t-pins or other strong pins
• wear old clothes
