Learn how to carve linocut blocks to use for printmaking on paper or fabric. We will address the basic how to and then carve 2 4" x 3" blocks to learn the technique and then a 4" x 6" block. I will provide a basic pattern for the initial carve so you can systematically learn the method. If you wish to draw your own design or bring in a printed design for the 4 x 6 block you are encouraged to do so. Flowers, animals, geometric shapes- they all work. We will discuss choices of design elements.
These will be simple single color designs. We will explore using printing inks as well as using acrylic paints to print. I'll show you ways to use these prints and add more color if desired.
