Tampa Bay Surface Design Guided Tour at the James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art

  • 18 Nov 2019
  • 11:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • James Museum of Western Art, 150 Central Ave, St. Petersburg

Registration

  • Works of art by nationally acclaimed artists on exhibit at the James Museum have inspired me to step outside the box to discover new ways to do my art. My jacket, "Dances with Crows," is my take on Paul Pletka's painting, "When Raven's Laughed." As we follow our guide through the museum, we'll take notes on color and composition to think of ways to incorporate them into our creations without actually copying the artist's work.

    GUIDED TOUR

The docent-led tour is at 11:30 is 45 minutes long and includes select works of art. Since there is much more to see, Elizabeth will then lead the group after lunch to view other works or you are free to explore on your own.

    COST

Groups of 10 or more are eligible for discounted admission: $15/adults and $10/seniors, 65+. (Regular admission: $20/adults and $15/seniors, 65+)

NOTE: We need 10 members to register by November 11 or sooner, in order to confirm the reduced rate. We are required to give a $50 deposit to confirm the group tour.

    LUNCH OPTIONS

The Canyon is located inside the museum. Reservations are required for groups, as seating is limited. Please let Elizabeth know if you plan to join us for lunch at the museum.

    WHAT TO BRING

A sweater or wrap as the museum is kept cool for preservation reasons.

    A notebook or sketchbook.
