Description:
Discover, enjoy and create fine radiant art on silk. No experience necessary. Everyone is successful! This is an incredible art form where no mistakes can be made. A myriad of design ideas, reference books and a handout packet are provided.
You will first get to experiment with the techniques of painting, color blending, water dispersion, alcohol mix, salts, etc. on a 14" sampler piece of silk. You will keep the sampler technique piece for your ready reference. Next you will create either a silk scarf or a 16x20" piece of silk for framing, collage, pillow top, etc. If you have time, you are welcome to create a 2nd scarf or 16x20" piece. (**I bring lots of drawn designs for you and design reference books too.)
Hours: 9:30-4.
Cost: $75 (includes Beach Art Center)

Bring: Your lunch and a beverage.
I will provide everything that you need including aprons, paper towels, silk, frames, pins, bamboo brushes, foam brushes, more silk, etc.
Bio: Peggy J. Wertheim, M.A.T. is an artist specializing in Surface Design on fibers. Her career began with color exploration and completion of a Master of Arts in Teaching, Miami University. For 40+ years she participated in art & gallery shows, lectures and taught hundreds of workshops. Her most recent activities include events at The Cleveland Museum of Art, CWRU Siegel College of Lifelong Learning, and Temple Beth-El Art Show Marketplace.
