In anticipation of the exhibit for Marlene Glickman at the Leepa-Ratner Museum, Elizabeth will guide you through creating free-form designs developed by Marlene. Choose from one or many colors and textures of fabrics. Find your own voice while layering and/or manipulating fabrics for 3-D effects. Work with hand-dyed fabrics, sheers, prints, and solids. Embellish with foils, threads, and beads, to make your original designs sparkle!
What to Bring:
Cutting mat, rotary cutter, scissors, pins, chenille needles, sewing machine, pen and journal. Fat quarter of 100% cotton to use as a substrate for your design. You can also use these techniques for creating greeting cards. A couple of irons and ironing boards will be available for you to use. You are welcome to bring your own iron and ironing board or mat. You will need an extension cord or powerstrip.
Materials Provided:
Curated Kits that include a variety of textured fabrics, ribbons, foils, and fusible web to get your creative juices flowing. Add color coordinated threads, beads, and other ephemera.
Special price for guild members of $55 includes instruction, kits and all materials, and Beach Art Center fee.
