Basic Linocut for Printing on Paper and Fabric

Price: $70. This includes $10 tools and materials fee, and BAC fee ($10 tools and materials fee covers take-home Esdee carving kit, 2 - 4” x 6” carving blocks, use of paints and paper.)
Learn the basics to design, carve and print linocuts on paper or fabric.
Instructor Supplies:
Design samples, tracing paper, graphite for transfer, pencil, marking pen, paper print table set up, Exacto blades, blue tape, acrylic palettes, make-up sponges, non-skid mat, paper for printing, acrylic paints, fabric medium, paper towels, t-pins.
Students Supply:
Print table (1” thick styrofoam approximately 12”-18” x 18”-24", -padded with an old towel and covered with solid colored fabric taped or pinned to back. Call if you have questions), simple line drawings of your marks, 2 - fat quarter sized (18” x 24”) pieces of solid colored fabric.
I’m excited to offer you my workshop on Linocut and printmaking on paper and fabric. Adding linocut to my artistic repertoire has blasted open pathways for creativity. Rather than striving for complex, detailed imagery, I seek the fewest clean lines that tell the story. I’m seeking simplicity. That keeps my work approachable and understandable. I’ll share the important fundamental techniques and process so you can carve your own images. Then, after lunch, we’ll use your images to print on both paper and fabric.
