Want to sign up to contribute to the Technique Journal?
There are now two ways to sign up to participate. Our usual method-- at our meeting, sign up on the clipboard located on the technique journal display table OR
sign up here by giving us your name, email/phone number and technique to be shared (if you already know it). Presently if you don't know what technique you will be sharing that is perfectly okay. You will just want to check the existing pages (on our website- Member's Only tab, resources) to make sure we don't already have that technique shared. However, expanding or sharing a different approach on an existing technique is fine. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to ask: Gayle Wells, ilvfabric@aol.com. I am happy to help. Also, check out what is already online to get a better understanding of what a technique page actually is.
What you need to do:
Sign up time for this year will be closed after our August meeting. I will compose and share a list of participants to those signed up. At our September meeting, you should bring copies of your page ( each copy placed in a clear page protector, clearly labeled with another participant's name with an attached sample (if at all possible). The number of copies you will need to bring is one for each participant ( include yourself!) and one for the guild notebook for updating. For example, if 15 people sign up, you will need 16 copies, one for every member and one for the guild notebook. This year I will take responsibility for organizing the exchange and for the upkeep of the notebooks. We will hopefully continue to add pages to our digitalized version on our website but of course, this resource will include photos of the samples (not as wonderful as having the actual handmade sample!). If for some reason you want to take part but can't attend the September exchange meeting you can let Gayle Wells know in advance and we can work out the details; however, you will need to make sure your pages are available for distribution at that September meeting so that everyone can have a successful, fun exchange. Important: Please claim your contribution by including your name and 2025 so that if members have questions or comments they know who to contact.
You will also need to provide an electronic copy of your page, and images of your sample. These should be emailed to surfacedesignguild@gmail.com.
